Spotlight on 'School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play'
Idris Elba, Maya Jama, and Little Simz are set to produce the London West End adaptation of "Shifters," a play originally from Bush Theatre, featuring a storyline about the intersection of the lives of two talented Black youths, Dre and Des. Directed by Lynette Linton, the production will run for nine weeks at the Duke of York's Theatre, with performances starting August 12. Heather Agyepong, known for her role in "School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play," will reprise her character alongside Tosin Cole. Additionally, the production will launch a temporary bookshop focusing on Black British literature, emphasizing themes of joy and love, during its run.
